Here’s How to delete Reddit Account

Steps to deactivate your Reddit account

Reddit is one of the most popular social media platforms out there. As of 2019, Reddit has more than 300 million active accounts, with 1.7 billion monthly visitors, and over 130,000 subreddits, each one with its own community. Reddit is different from other platforms, in that the conversations are not based in groups, or between 2 people(although you can direct message other users), but based on a particular topic. This leads to more topical conversations.

Accounts on Reddit are much less tied to your personal identity than on other social media platforms. One of the biggest differences is that you don’t have to have an email address. In fact, Reddit asks for almost no personal information. This can lead to more privacy, but it can also lead to more abuse and harassment. The increased privacy means that Reddit accounts are less susceptible to hacking. But you still may want to delete the Reddit account if you have accidentally leaked your personal information.

How to delete Reddit account

This is how you delete your Reddit account. It’s important to remember that once you deactivate your account, you can never get it back.

But the thing about this process is that it does not delete the content of your posts and comments. So if your comments contain personal information, that information will not be deleted when you delete your account.

Overwriting/delete Reddit account comments and posts

In order to remove Reddit posts/comments, you can individually delete them. But that can get very tedious. You can use a chrome extension like Nuke Reddit History to mass overwrite comments(you can’t delete multiple comments at once) to remove any personal information.

So with these 2 things, you can delete all your personal data from Reddit. Reddit is much better than other social media platforms, although it would be much better if you had a native way to delete multiple comments/posts at once.
