Life is Strange 3: Will Max and Chloe Finally Return?
Life is Strange 3 may head into production very soon if Square Enix sees fit to carry on the franchise
Life is Strange 2 concluded just two days ago with Episode 5 bringing an end to an emotional tale of brotherhood, loyalty, and adventure. The verdict is out, and fans are happy with the season. The series has grown to be quite popular, and we have already seen two popular spinoff games coming out as well. But what about Max and Chloe? And will there be a Life is Strange 3? Let’s discuss this.
Life is Strange 3 – What to Expect
Since the arrival of the original Life is Strange in 2015, fans have been asking for a sequel that brings Max and Chloe back to the picture. We did get Chloe and Rachel’s prequel story in Life is Strange: Before the Storm. But seeing Max again become part of the main storyline would be great. We may actually get to see the dynamic duo back in Life is Strange 3.

The storytelling in Life is Strange is what keeps the fans coming back for more. Even though we did not get to see Max and Chloe for a very long time, the studio managed to keep the new season interesting enough that fans look at it as a true Life is Strange game. Would we mind if Chloe and Max didn’t return? No. Do we want to see them again? Of course! The developers have not yet confirmed anything we hope we get some good news by E3 2020.
Story Overview
One of the best things about Life is Strange is that they bring together fantasy with our daily lives. Even though it is a fantasy story in each and every game that has released (with the exception of Before the Storm). The connection that it creates with the dialogue, the music, and the struggles of the characters make it feel all too real.
Life is Strange 3 is going to be no different, and we expect similar stellar writing in the upcoming title. The choice in music has been a hit with Square Enix being on point with the timing and the mood of it all. The visuals are great, as well. It all comes together well in all of the stories, and we can’t wait to get more of it.
When will Square Enix Reveal Life is Strange 3
Life is Strange 3 has not been confirmed yet. Neither has Square Enix said anything about working on a new game. According to Life is Strange Director Raoul Barbet, as well as lead writer Jean-Luc Cano, have confirmed that they are interested in working on a new Life is Strange game. But the decision lies with Square Enix.
We do not know the sales figures of Life is Strange 2 just yet with the latest episode coming out just two days ago. It will be a while until Square Enix decides if Life is Strange 3 was successful enough to warrant a sequel or not.

Why don’t they do a crossover with lis 1 & 2 where you pick whether you want to be max or Sean with in lis 1 max didn’t save Arcadia and Sean made it to Mexico and Daniel didn’t and they need to get Daniel and have max and him use there abilities to save some place important
its going to have a lot of works for dontnod and square enix. the only thing we could do is be patient of the story. i know some of us doesn’t feel satisfy of Max and Chloe’s ending which is both are sad ending. all we gotta wait is for Life is Strange 3 with new story line and everything. Just hoping they’ll make life is strange 3 to make the game is actually living. and hope we could see Max, Chloe, Sean, and Daniel. but its kinda complicated bcs life is strange 2 have 7 endings.. so yeah
I was really hoping in LiS 2 it would be a crossover.. Max could meet Sean and Daniel, and go back in time to where it happened, in Seattle.. Then Sean could tell Daniel not to go outside, and he prevents Esteban from dying.. That way, they could live happily. And when Sean goes to the party, Max and Chloe are there. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen, but I still love the games after all.
I hope that there will be another life is strange, the company make really good games and they know how pull at you’re heart strings, i enjoy these type of games
I would absolutely love to see more of Sean & Daniel. I’m okay with new characters tho… LiS2 was the best of the series.
I honestly hope that Dontnod don’t bow to pressure to serialize the games. I’m fine with three stories and three worlds. Obviously Square Enix put pressure on them, and then went to another developer to make a knock off–which kind of annoyed me. What made the original and (even better) LiS2 was it didn’t feel like a game. Even Telltale titles tend to be game-y. Life is Strange 2 felt like part short novel, part off-Broadway drama, part photograph book, part art project that was presented by a game engine tweaked to have a unique aesthetic.
I likes Life is Strange: Before the Storm, because Chloe and Rachel got together very well before Max. I think there should be No.3 where Rachel should return (Where people thinks she’s dead (What my opinion is)) and better if the player is able to decide who Chloe is going to choose between Max and Rachel…I just hope the game returns and that Rachel returns #please!
I liked Life is Strange: Before the Storm, because it was a great storyline between Chloe and Rachel, where they eventually become more than friends. Although Rachel is considered to be dead, and Max returned to Chloe, I think that in Life is Strange 3 (After the Storm) Rachel would likely to return and that Chloe, Rachel, and Max would be together once again. I really want Rachel to come back alive from the “dead”. Finally, I really like it if the player is able to choose who will Chloe choose from Rachel or Max….That is my opinion of how the game should be; I really want to see more of Chloe, Max, and Rachel (I hope she comes). C’mon, you know you have to bring Rachel back from the “dead”. Perfect conclusion to the series. Would answer a lot of questions from LiS 1. Max and Chloe MUST return too. Canonize Bae > Bay.
I have to agree COMPLETELY with Anonymous123. Bringing Max and Chloe back (canonizing Bae over Bay) for the third season would be the best move; the fans adore them to pieces and they can bring the series back to where it needs to be (LiS2 was a disappointment). There’s also a lot of unanswered questions from the first season that could be squared away and/or expounded on, such as the Totems, the Spirit Animals, the curious case of Samuel (is he an angel/spirit guide/alien?), the cause of the Storm, and whether Rachel truly died or not. In fact, if DONTNOD brought Rachel back I guarantee it would break the internet. There’s also an interesting dynamic that could be explored between the love triangle of Rachel, Max, and Chloe. Who would Chloe choose ultimately, especially if Rachel truly did return — Max or Rachel? Would Max and Rachel get along? What would Max and Chloe be doing for a living now? What new challenges could they possibly be facing? And would we get to play as Max, Chloe, or Rachel? Or how about all three? Maybe Rachel could now have powers… There’s A LOT they could do yet with these characters and I think it would be a waste to ignore them now. Life is Strange 3: After the Storm. Make is so!

I hope they bring back Max and Chloe. I liked LiS 2, but to be honest, I was more focused on finding clues about Chloe’s and Max’s whereabouts than on the story of LiS 2. I understand their decision to move on. However, the first LiS had such an impact on me and most of the player base (according to reviews) with too many dots unconnected, that it hurts so much to be disconnected from the original characters. I can’t bring myself to fall in love with LiS 2 because all I think about is Max, Chloe, Rachel, and Arcadia Bay. It took me a while to purchase LiS 2 because I couldn’t bear the thought of playing this game without the characters I have been growing with. I was right. As good as LiS 2 was, I was missing Max and Chloe all the way throughout my plays through. I can’t bring myself to do this an third time. Once was devastating enough.
Please bring back Max and Chloe. Make “After the Storm” happen. Tell us the Story about Max during her years of absence, in Seattle. Anything. As good as LiS 2 was, all I did was grieving for hints and clues for Max and Chloe. As much as I wanted to enjoy this game (it took me a while before I purchased it on discount because I couldn’t bear the thought of not playing as Chloe or Max), I couldn’t enjoy the story because of my grieving for more Max and Chloe. A game series should stay true to their characters, especially a game like LiS. Please bring back Max and Chloe, one way or the other.
To be honest, I have chosen the ‘save Arcadia Bay’ option as my ‘canon’ ending, due to various reasons. It would be kinda selfish to save only one person – even if it is your best friend – when the entire town and its population are on the line and in your hands. Besides, I didn’t like Chloe that much when I played the original Life is Strange game; she didn’t care about anything else but herself. She even tried to use Max to use her powers for Chloe’s own gain when she found out about Max’ superpowers. The only time (no pun intended) she started to have some redeemable qualities was at the end when she decided to sacrificed herself to save the town, which is indeed heroic. Chloe was pretty awesome in ‘Before The Storm’ though, but I still think that the ‘Save Arcadia Bay’ option is the best choice. That being said, I don’t mind Max would mention her once or twice should a third come in to fruition.
