Step by Step Procedure to Install ElvUI on World of Warcraft
During the installation process, World of Warcraft should not be running. Make sure that you close any background processes related to WoW from the Task Manager. Expand the task manager and press on ‘End Task’ for every WoW process that you may find.
All your settings are stored in a folder named ‘WTF’. In case things go wrong while installing the add-ons, you might want to restore your game’s existing settings with the contents of this folder. Therefore, it’s always safe to create a backup of this folder. Locate the WTF folder within the main directory of World of Warcraft.
It’s time to download the ElvUI application but do not make the mistake of downloading this file from any website other than this one! We have received complaints of ElvUI not showing up in the game if the application’s latest version was not downloaded. That’s a heads up!
Download the right application for your game’s version. For instance, if you are running the Classic version of WoW, you are looking for this file!
You will receive the ElvUI application in a compressed zip folder. Extract the contents of this folder (the folder has been saved to your default download location). You will now have two folders; ElvUI and ElvUI_OptionsUI.
Head to your World of Warcraft ‘AddOns’ folder. By default, the ‘AddOns’ folder is located in C:\User\Public\Games\World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\AddOns.
Drop both of those folders extracted from the compressed zip folder into this ‘AddOns’ folder.
Running World of Warcraft After Installation of ElvUI
It’s time to run WoW and see if everything is working fine. Head to the character selection screen. To the lower-left corner of your screen, you will see the AddOns icon.
Enter the AddOns menu by clicking on the icon in the lower-left corner of your screen. If you are lucky enough, ElvUI should show up here by now. Turn on the ElvUI addon. And that’s it! You just installed the ElvUI on World of Warcraft.

Errors During the Installation of ElvUI
