Xiaomi launches its Mi Smart Band 4 – Successor to Previous Mi Band 3

Under the much-anticipated hype of the arrival of Mi Band 4 from Xiaomi, Indians got to see the final launch under a different name. The smart band which was launched in China back in June this year was eagerly awaited by thousands of fans across India. At an event called Smart Living 2020, hosted by Xiaomi, the newly launched Mi Smart Band 4 was revealed. It proved to be just a better version of the Mi Band 4 which was launched back in June.

This wearable device features similar internal hardware, design and even the health-centric features. But what makes it impressive is the AMOLED display and Xiaomi’s claim that the device can last up to 20 days on just a single charge. The wearable smart band offers features such as sleep tracking and 24 x 7 heart rate monitoring. It also claims to be water-resistant up to 50 meters deep.

Pricing and Availability in India

Launching in India for a price of Rs. 2299, this successor to Mi Band 3, will be available from Mi.com, Mi Home stores and Amazon from September 19, 2019. The smart band will be available in five strap colors such as pink, orange, black, blue and plum. The added advantage is that users can also fit in the straps of their old Mi Band 3 to this model.

Mi Smart Band 4 Features and Specifications

Mi Smart Band 4 packs a 0.95-inch color AMOLED display. It has an impressive 120 x 240 pixels resolution. The band offers an extremely bright output of 400 nits. The display comes with a 2.5 tempered glass for protection. The anti-fingerprint coating on the tempered glass prevents the display from getting hazy.

Other features include a 3-axis accelerometer, 3-axis gyroscope, and a PPG heart rate sensor for heart rate monitoring. It comes with a 135 mAh battery. The band is compatible with Android 4.4 or higher and iOS 9.0 or higher. It pairs with the application Mi Fit app. The new swim tracking feature has an impressive stroke recognition that can easily interpret between a butterfly, backstroke and other swimming styles. Similarly, the band can support six workout modes such as outdoor running, swimming, treadmill and others. With sleep pattern tracking and various other health alters and notifications, this device is promising quite a lot of features for the users.
