One of the most expected games of the year was Cyberpunk 2077. This game created a big hype. Especially after E3 2019, the hype reached another height. When you see movie stars like Keanu Reeves on the stage, it is normal for people to get excited. The most important thing about the game is the developers are the CD Projekt Red. CD Projekt Red recently broke several new records, after their game series became a TV series. The games sold more than a hundred thousand after the series. Of course, Witcher was a book series, and CD Projekt created the visuals. But those visuals were very great and gameplay was insane. So Cyberpunk 2077 was exciting for all of us. But today we learned that Cyberpunk 2077 will be delayed until September 17, 2020.
This was somewhat expected because the development cycle of the games tends to get longer and longer. Also, there is a lot of pressure on CD Projekt Red. They are the heroes of the game world. This creates pressure, they can not simply deliver a half-finished game. Just by looking at the developer numbers, we can understand the amount of work they are going through. At the beginning of 2019, the developer team size was around 400, but around October, it was above 500 already. This is great and it means CD Project Red is trying to give us the best possible game that they can produce. The gaming press is ready to destroy a half-finished game. They have to be ready for this.

Of course, other fields affected by the Cyberpunk 2077 delay. Many industries was waiting for the release of the game. Such as Cyberpunk 2077 – Afterlife the Card Game, should be released around the same time. This delay is going to make some companies happy though. No company in their right mind would want to compete with Cyberpunk 2077. For example, Doom Eternal will be safe. However, we cannot say the same for fall releases. Most of the shooters are coming around the fall season, and this affects them the most.

Regardless of these problems, Cyberpunk 2077 is delayed until September 17, 2020. The game will still be amazing in our opinion. We do hope that CD Projekt Red will be able to deliver a very good game. Also, they need to consider something regarding the pre-orders. Many players already pre-ordered the game from Steam and GOG. This will affect them the most. CD Projekt Red announced in their Twitter that the game is already playable, but needs a lot of polishing. Night City is huge, and there are a lot of stories in it. To be honest even this sentence shows that what they are trying to accomplish.
